Schneider Optics unveils TRUE-STREAK™ Filters
Schneider Optics announces the True-Streak™ Filter series, designed to provide dramatic horizontal streak effects emanating from point sources of light. This unique look can be an out-of-the-box solution for the cinematographer who wants to enhance night exteriors, highlight reflections off chrome surfaces, add vibrancy to rock -n-roll illumination, or achieve other stand-out imagery.
True-Streak filters are made from the same water white optical glass for which Schneider is famous. The new series is available in a variety of colors: blue, red, orange, green, yellow, violet and pink, as well as clear. By giving cinematographers four steps of strength for each color, ultimate control of the effect is provided.
“The anamorphic blue streak was the origin of the concept,” says Ira Tiffen, Schneider Optics Vice President of Motion Picture and Television Filters. “But typically it could only be generated by using anamorphic lenses, which was often limited to big budget productions. I realized there was a need for a cost-effective filter in standard sizes to reproduce the effect, and developed the True-Streak.
Schneider Optics True-Streaks come in 4 x 4, 4 x 5.65 and 6.6 x 6.6 sizes, ready to work with standard matteboxe filter systems.
